Miracle Meadows School

Miracle Meadows Alternative Boarding School for Troubled Youth, in Salem, is starting a Brass Ensemble.  You can assist the non-profit school by donating your used horns, trumpets, saxophones, french horns, trumbones, and other brass instruments.  If you are able to donate any of these instruments, please call 304-782-3630 or 304-782-3628.

Spa For Paws Pet Wash

The Student Veterinary Technology Association of Pierpont Community & Technical College of Fairmont State University has announced a  pet wash will be held Friday February 3rd from 2pm-8pm and Saturday February 4th from 10am-4pm.  Walk-ins welcome or call 304-367-0000 for an appointment.  Funds raised through this event are beneficial to sick and homeless animals as well as education. 

BINGO TUESDAY

Come join the fun at the Harrison County Senior Citizens Center at 500 West Main Street in Clarksburg for BINGO TUESDAY February 7th.  Doors open at 5:30pm, Early Birds start at 6pm and BINGO starts at 6:30pm.  This event is open to the public age 18 years or older.  There will be limited bus service available to this event.  Call 304-623-6795 by Monday February 6th to reserve seating.

FREE SEMINAR

The Lewis County Senior Center invites the public to attend a FREE SEMINAR on the Affordable Health Care Act Thursday February 9th at 12pm at the center.  Lisa Diehl, Regional Coordinator for West Virginians for Affordable Health Care, will provide an objective overview of the Affordable HealthCare Act.  She will review the major provisions in the new law, which includes Medicare.  Free materials will be provided and there will be a time for questions.

BELLA NOTTE

The West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival is inviting you to the 2nd Annual Bella Notte Valentine Celebration Saturday February 11th at Village Square Conference Center in Clarksburg.   Cocktails & Hors d' Oeuvres at 6pm, Dinner at 7pm.  Live entertainment will be provided by Benjamin DeFazio and 2nd Street.  Tickets are $25.00.  Cash bar.  For reservations, contact the festival office at 304-622-7314.

Valentine's/Benefit Square Dance

The Salem Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor it's annual Valentines/Benefit Square Dance at the Red Barn in Salem Saturday February 11th.  Doors open at 6:30pm with the dance beginning at 7pm.Tickets will be available for sale at the door only.  Adult/Senior tickets are  $ 10.00, Students/College student with ID tickets are $5.00, Children under 6yrs are FREE.  Live music will be performed by the Chaparrals, featuring Jim Bunch.  Door prizes and a cake walk will be included in the evening's festivities.  This is an alcohol/drug free event and packaged concessions will be sold.  All proceedswill be donated to a fund established to build restroom facilities at the Salem Depot Park for use during the summer concerts and other similar activities that are free to the public.

BENEFIT BINGO

Longaberger Benefit Bingo will be held for Tracy Bland Sunday February 12th from 1pm-5pm at the Clarksburg VFW located next to the Clarksburg Public Library.  Tracy is fighting Lymphoma Cancer and this benefit is to help raise funds to help with obtaining medicine and to pay mounting bills.  All donations would be greatly appreciated.  Looking for donations of gift baskets.  Bingo tickets are $20.00.  For more information regarding donations and/or tickets, contact Tracy Bland  P.O. City Parks of Clarksburg

Registration for a High School Girl's Volleyball League is now being accepted by the City Parks of Clarksburg.  League play will begin February 11th with matches played at Clarksburg Recreation Center Saturdays mornings at 10am.  Registration deadline is Thursday February 2nd. The cost is $25.00 per individual and includes uniform shirt and awards to tournament champions.  Registration for Girl's Middle School Volleyball is now being accepted  by City Parks.  This league will play beginning February 13th  with matches being played at Clarksburg Recreation Center Monday evenings at 6pm.  Registration dealine is Thursday February 2nd. YMCA Camp Horseshoe ~ College Students

College students looking to put their skills to good use will want to check out YMCA Camp Horseshoe in Parsons.  Horseshow Summer Camp Counselors make all the difference in the lives of campers. Key To Life Pen-Pal Prison Ministry
