Theatre in the Park Series
On July 12th, 26th and August 10th there will be theatre performances at Ferguson Park!
McFly Outdoors Summer Concert Series
On June 22nd, at the Stonewall resort, Outdoor theater, starting at 6:30pm, several local country music bands will perform, in part of the McFly Outdoors Summer Concert series. There will be a $5 car admission to enter the resort but NO additional cost for the concert! For more info call 304-269-7400.
Hot Dog and Bake Sale
On June 22nd there will be a hotdog and bake sale at the Nutter Fort Public Library from12:00pm- 4:00pm! Proceeds will benefit the library!
Hot Dog Lunch and Dinner
On Friday June 28th at the Lost Creek United Methodist Church there will be a Hot Dog Lunch and Dinner from 11:00am-7:00pm that will cost $6.50. It will consist of 2 hot dogs, 2 sides, drink and Desert! Indivivual Items will be sold seperately! Take Outs will be available, call the church 304-745-3553
Benefit 5K Run/Walk
The Harrison County YMCA will be holding it’s 6th Annual Benefit 5K Run/Walk at Charles Pointe on Saturday, June 29, 2013. Registration begins at 7 a.m., race starts at 8:30 a.m. First 100 participants receive a t-shirt. A Kids Fun Run for ages 3-8 will be held after the 5K. For more information call 623-3303 or 842-6904. All proceeds benefit the Y’s Partner With Youth Scholarship Fund.
Teen Challenge Choir Concert
On June 30th, at The Way of Holiness Church at 10:30 am, the Appalachian Teen Challence Choir will be preforming. For more information call 304-472-5727!
Summer Food Program
Breakfast and Lunch will be open to all childern under the age 18 and under who would like to participate! Meals will be served at the following sites:
June17th-August 8th (No meals will be served on June 20th or July 4th)
Academy Elemantary School- Breakfast will be served from 7:30 am-8:00am and Lunch 11:00am-11;30am
Buckhannon Upshur High School- Breakfast from 8:30-9:00pm
Stockert Youth Center- Breakfast from 8:30-9:00am and Lunch 11:30am-12:00pm
Upshur County Recreational Park: Lunch from 1:30pm-2:00pm
Valley Green Apartments: Lunch from 11:30am-12:00pm
Rock Cave Elementary School: Lunch 11:30am-12:00pm
Trip to Foxwoods and Newport, Rhode Island
The Lewis County senior Center has a trip planned to the Foxwoods and Newport October 5-10 2013. Included is 5 nights lodging, including 3 consecutive nights in the Two trees Inn at Foxwoods Resort, 8 meals. There will be a visit inside a mansion in Newport, visit to the Mohegan Sun Casino Resort and a guided tour of Newport. Cost is $575 with a $75 deposit due upon sigining!
